Student journalism needs your support
For years, the Student Publication Association (SPA) has done everything we can to make sure journalism better reflects the communities we serve.
Membership of the SPA is free, and our training resources are available to every member across the UK and Republic of Ireland (ROI). Our Financial Assistance Scheme has supported many student journalists underrepresented in journalism in attending SPANC, our annual national conference.
Everyone at the SPA is a volunteer. Running a student-led organisation with over 220 member publications across the UK & ROI takes a huge amount of time, resources and goodwill. And we’re happy to do it, because we love and believe in student journalism, and students who want to become tomorrow's journalists and media professionals.
We need your help!
Despite our best efforts, it’s becoming harder and harder to keep the SPA accessible to everyone.
We do our utmost to limit ticket prices to our national conference, to fund as many places as possible to our Financial Assistance Scheme, and to livestream major events such as our awards online.
The cost of running our national conference keeps getting more expensive. Venues, including universities, keep raising their prices.
And we cannot pass that cost onto student journalists.
What can I do to help?
