Election of a new SPA Chair
The SPA is recruiting a fantastic new team of Regional and Project Officers to assist our Exec in new endeavours and exciting challenges!
You can find information about each role below.
Any writer or editor for a member publication, individual SPA member, or graduating member in either category can apply for these roles – and also feel free to inform others who may be interested.
Each role is perfect for anyone who wants to get more involved with student journalism – not to mention that they look good on a CV.

Regional Officers
SPA Regional Officers work with the SPA Executive Committee to provide support and events for publications regions across the UK and Republic of Ireland. This means that as well as being a dedicated point of contact for publications in your region, you will also play a pivotal role in overseeing the annual Regional Conference and Awards in your region.
We are currently recruiting Regional Officers for:

- Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

- South East England
- South West England
- Midlands
- Northern England
Project Officers
Digital Media Officer
The Digital Media Officer helps to oversee social media, our website and to and create engaging digital content for our members.
Advocacy Officer
The Advocacy Officer helps to advocate on behalf of our member publications, acting as a key point of contact if member publications run into an issue and need someone to support them and fight their corner!
Alumni Officer
The Alumni Officer helps to maintain contact and strong connections with SPA alumni, keeping them engaged and updated with what they’re up to. This year, the Alumni Officer will play a key role in organising celebrations for the SPA’s fifth anniversary!
